The Xpress held their first Xpress Girls try-outs, and it was a great sucess! Several ladies tried out, and in the end the Xpress signed 12 ladies to the new 2009 dance squad. The Organization would like to thank all the ladies that came out, and the whole organization looks forward to all of you being the face of the franchise.
Xpress season opener a success
The Xpress open the season with a 28-12 win over the Lone Star Pitbulls.The Xpress got an all around game from rookie sensation Rocky Frank, 11 carries for 125 yards, 3 catches for 116 yards and a total of 3 td's. The offensive line time after time opened up holes and cut back lanes for all three RBs for the Xpress to have over 170 yards on the ground. With the Xpress Thunder and lightning attack Johnathan Byner turned in 7 carries for 40 yards and a score. The defense put in some great numbers also, players like Quiton Sarpy 2 sacks Jeremy Rutherford with 2.5 sacks, Demarcus Nixon and Carnell Livingston both had interceptions.The defense as a whole had 6 sacks and several plays that resulted in negative yards for the PitBulls.The defense gave up 8 yards rushing on 10 carries and 136 yards passing. Their next game will be a true test as the team faces an East Texas Storm team that feels like it was upset with their opening day lost and have their sites on upsetting the Xpress.
